An epoxy resin conference table is a solid wood top with poured resin, built to the size of your room and the number of people you need to seat. To buy one well, settle the room size and seat count first, then choose the wood, resin color and base, and plan power, data and any company logo before production starts.
This guide walks through those decisions in the order an office manager, founder or interior designer usually makes them. It covers sizing, materials, cable planning, logos, care, lead times and delivery, with sources for the technical points. You can see finished examples in our epoxy resin conference tables collection.
What is an epoxy resin conference table?
It is a meeting table where wood slabs and cast epoxy resin form one top. The resin can run between two live edges like a river, fill a geometric pattern cut into the wood, or surround the wood completely. The top then sits on a base, usually steel legs or a custom frame.
There are two practical reasons to choose one. First, a custom conference table can be made to the exact length and width the room allows, instead of the nearest catalog size. Second, the wood grain and resin color give a boardroom a single, clear focal point that clients and staff remember.
At Onyx Resin, every table is made to order in the client's size, wood, resin color and base. We work with walnut, olive and poplar, and the resin can be any color.
How big should a conference table be for your room?
Start with the room, not the table. Space planners usually budget floor area per seat, then leave enough walking room between the table edge and the walls.
The University of Montana's space standards allow 20 to 25 square feet per station for a general conference room. For clearance, the reference site Dimensions.com gives 48 inches between table and wall as a minimum and about 56 inches for a more comfortable room. The same source shows a table of about 192 by 58 inches seating 15 people.
Using the 20 to 25 square feet figure, this is the room area to plan for:
| Seats at the table | Room area to plan (sq ft) | Room area to plan (m²) |
|---|---|---|
| 6 | 120 to 150 | 11 to 14 |
| 8 | 160 to 200 | 15 to 19 |
| 10 | 200 to 250 | 19 to 23 |
| 12 | 240 to 300 | 22 to 28 |
| 16 | 320 to 400 | 30 to 37 |
| 20 | 400 to 500 | 37 to 46 |
Treat these as a first check. Doors that swing into the room, a credenza along one wall, or a screen at one end all take space. When you request a quote, send the room's length and width and the number of seats you need, and we size the top to fit.
To check a specific room before you ask for a quote, try our free conference room planner. Enter the room size and the number of seats, and it sizes the table and shows the space around it on a scale plan you can download.
Which wood and resin color suit an office or boardroom?
The right look depends on how formal the room is and what else is in it. A dark walnut top with clear or black resin reads as calm and corporate. A turquoise or blue river is more expressive and suits creative studios, hospitality offices and client-facing rooms. These four designs from our conference table collection show the range:
| Design | Wood and resin | Best fit |
|---|---|---|
| Tessellate | Walnut with clear resin in a honeycomb pattern | Larger boardrooms that want pattern without strong color |
| Lens | Walnut with clear resin in circular cutouts | Modern offices with a geometric style |
| Yin Yang | Walnut with black and white resin | Boardrooms with a monochrome or high-contrast scheme |
| Atoll | Live edge top with turquoise resin on a gold base | Client-facing rooms where the table is the centerpiece |
Each design is a starting point. The size, wood, resin color and base can all change. If your office already has walnut doors or a dark floor, mention it, and send a photo of the room so the preview reflects it.
These four are only a small sample. Every design in our dining table collection can also be made at conference table size, with the same choice of wood, resin color and base. It is the quickest way to see more wood and resin combinations before you request a quote.
Live edge or straight edge?
A live edge keeps the natural outline of the slab, so the sides of the table are slightly irregular. It looks organic, as on the Atoll table. A straight, machined edge, as on Tessellate and Lens, looks more architectural and lines up neatly with walls and other furniture. Both work in a boardroom; it comes down to the style of the space.
Which base should you choose?
We offer steel leg designs or a fully custom base. For a conference table, think about knee room at the ends and corners, where people often sit when the room is full. Say how many people should sit at each end, and the base is planned around that.
Can an epoxy conference table have power, data and cable management?
Yes. Power, data and cable management are integrated into the table to fit your needs. That can mean outlets in the top, grommets for cables, and a route for cords down through the base so they are not trailing across the floor.
The key is to decide this before production, because the openings are planned into the top. Before you request a quote, answer three questions:
- How many people need to plug in a laptop or phone at the same time?
- Do you need wired network ports, or only power?
- Where are the floor or wall outlets, and where will the screen or camera be?
With those answers, the power and cable layout is planned with you before production, so the positions suit the way the room is used.
Can you put a company logo on a conference table?
Yes. A conference table with a logo lets the boardroom carry your brand. A logo can be set into the top of a conference table or desk.
The logo detail is worked out together in the preview before production. Send your logo file, say where it should sit (center of the top, one end, or near the head of the table), and say whether it should stand out or stay subtle. You approve the result in the preview before production begins.
How durable is epoxy resin in a busy meeting room?
Before you choose resin for a busy room, know its two limits, which resin makers state plainly: heat and sunlight.
Heat. Resin softens when it gets hot. Resin maker ArtResin rates its cured coating resin to 120°F (50°C) and its sister product Industrial Clear to 190°F (88°C). It notes that a very hot mug can leave a slight impression that fades as the resin cools, and it advises against putting very hot items, such as dishes straight from the oven, directly on cured resin. Ratings differ by product, so the practical rule for any resin table is simple: use coasters for hot drinks and trivets for hot food or catering trays.
Sunlight. Ultraviolet light can change the color of epoxy over time. Entropy Resins states that even with UV stabilizers, no epoxy is completely immune to ultraviolet radiation, and that both direct and indirect sun count. If your boardroom has a wall of windows, tell us in your quote request and plan for blinds or shades during the brightest hours.
How long does a custom conference table take, and how is it delivered?
Lead time matters if the table has to be ready for an office move or an opening date. Here is how an order runs, step by step. Our How It Works page covers the same process in more detail.
- Quote and preview. You send the room size, seat count and style. Within 48 hours you receive an AI-rendered preview and a full quote, or real photos of similar past work.
- Deposit and slab approval. A one-third deposit starts the order. We send a photo of the actual wood slab for your approval.
- Production. Production takes 3 to 8 weeks after design approval, with photo updates at every stage.
- Shipping. Shipping takes 1 to 3 weeks. In total, plan for 4 to 11 weeks from design approval to delivery.
Worldwide delivery is included and insured. The table travels in a custom wooden crate, with the top and base packed separately, and assembly is required on site. Customs duties are not included and are paid by the recipient. If anything arrives damaged, report it within 7 days with photos and it is handled.

What should you send with a conference table quote request?
A complete brief gets you an accurate preview on the first try. Include:
- Room length and width, plus the position of doors, windows and screens
- Number of seats, including how many at each end
- Preferred shape and edge: live edge or straight
- Wood (walnut, olive or poplar) and resin color, or a photo of a style you like
- Base preference: steel legs or a custom base
- Power, data and cable needs
- Logo file and placement, if you want one
- Delivery city and the date the room needs to be ready
Frequently asked questions
How many people can sit at an epoxy conference table?
As many as the room allows, because each table is made to order. A common planning figure is 20 to 25 square feet of room per seat, so a 10-seat table needs a room of roughly 200 to 250 square feet. Send your room size and we size the top to it.
Can a conference table match our existing office furniture?
You choose the size, wood, resin color and base, so you can pick tones that sit well with your floors, doors and chairs. Send photos of the room, and the preview shows the table in a setting close to yours.
Will I see the design before it is made?
Yes. You receive an AI-rendered preview and full quote within 48 hours, or real photos of similar past work. Before production, we also send a photo of the actual slab for your approval.
Do you deliver conference tables to offices in the US and Europe?
Yes. Worldwide delivery is included and insured, in a custom wooden crate. The top and base are packed separately and need assembly. Customs duties are not included.
Can you add power outlets and a logo to the same table?
Yes. Power, data and cable management are fitted to your needs, and the logo detail is worked out in the preview. Both are planned together so outlets and logo do not compete for the same spot.
